Vehicle Inspection checks include the following:
Inspection of the exterior bodywork including corrosion or poor repairs on the paintwork, alignment of body panels and condition of the glass, doors, locks, trims and covers for security and condition.
- Engine compartment checks;
Checks on the bonnet catches and hinges, the cold start and hot start of the engine for any unusual noises or smoke. As the engine warms up I will be checking for any leaks from the engine oil, transmission oil, or coolant leaks while looking for any evidence of over-heating as well as checking all fluids for any contaminates and correct levels along with all the throttle and gearbox linkages.
Download of all electrical management systems to ensure there are no hidden electrical faults and test all electrical components inside and out to ensure correct operation.
- Front and rear suspension / wheels and tyres / brakes;
I will raise the vehicle to visually inspect all the suspension components and gators for any free-play, leaks, security, condition, and operation.
Inspection of wheels, tyres and trims for any damage and wear.
Visual inspection (where visible) of the braking components such as the brake discs and pads, brake pipes and hoses for condition and security.
The general condition of all carpets, seats, trims, door handles, catches, hinges, check straps and head-lining as well as the operation of soft-tops or sunroofs, while ensuring that all the electrical equipment such as warning lights, electric windows, central locking, washers wipers, lights, air conditioning, heater switches etc. all work as the manufacturer intended.
Visual inspection of all components of the exhaust, fuel system and the remaining braking sytem for security and condition of the mounting points, tanks, hoses, pipes and cables, along with visually inspecting the vehicle chassis for any accident damage and corrosion.
While on road test I will be checking the engine for a smooth and appropriate performance and any unusual noises or smoke.
For manual or automatic vehicles I will ensure the gearbox is in good condition and operates as the the manufacturer intended.
While ensuring good wheel alignment, steering and suspension condition with appropriate handling, as well as checking for no brake noise and good brake efficiency and performance.
Every care will be taken in the above checks, however I cannot guarantee the life expectancy of any vehicle or parts.
